Evaluating my GAME Plan
- How effective were your actions in helping you meet your goals?
I have successfully connected with a few teachers in my area that are interested in sharing resources and information about integrating technology. We have been in communication through email over the past few days and are looking forward to expanding our circle. I have also begun looking for resources that could be used in my classroom. I currently have these resources saved under my Favorites list until I can decide how exactly I want to share and organize them.
- What have you learned so far that you can apply in your instructional practice?
Through communicating with other teachers, I have learned that there are teachers close by that are interested in not only sharing resources, but also in networking our classes (my future class). This is an idea that I have never really thought about too much, but would be interesting to follow up on. Given the opportunity, I believe that it would be beneficial to all involved to network classes and work together on a project or activity.
- What do you still have to learn? What new questions have arisen?
I still need to decide what the best way to organize/share my technology resources is. I am not sure if I should post them in a blog, on a wiki, or some other website. Any ideas?- How will you adjust your plan to fit your current needs?
I adjusted my plan last week to fit my current need of simply searching for resources and not actually apply them yet. I don't think that it needs to be adjusted at this time.
Amber,
ReplyDeleteWhat types of technology and/or curriculum will your group be looking at as you communicate with one another? Are there specific topics and/or learning tools that you hope to discuss or are there common content topics that you will be discussing? I am also curious what your criteria are for the technology you hope to use to organize your resources, lessons, etc. Do you want to use a web-based learning/teaching tool that others can access and/or you are able to access from any computer with an Internet connection?
If you tell me a little more about how you want to organize your resources perhaps I can give you some suggestions or use your criteria to help move my GAME Plan forward. You might want to take a look at the wiki, Technology in Action Learning Tools (http://technology-in-action-learning-tools.wikispaces.com/), I am creating that shares information with educators about Twitter and Diigo, two social-networking websites that aid with gathering information, collaboration, organization, etc. Although it is still a work in progress, perhaps you may find information within the examples that can aid in your search for an organizational tool for the resources you gather.
When you say, “networking” classrooms, do you know what this would look like, sound like, etc.? I realize that you are in the brainstorming stages, but I am curious about what type of technologies you have considered using when communicating with the other classes.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Courtney
Amber,
ReplyDeleteI would definitely save all your resources on your bookmarking site and make sure you tag them appropriately so that you can find them easily. Like Courtney, I have also begun a Wiki resource page called Technology 4 Us and I am planning on organizing it by specific technology tools. Then within each page, I am planning on making sections for grades 3, 4, and 5 as well as by subject area. I haven't worked out the kinks either, but this is my plan.
